Emotional Drive
I like to live by the principle of Ikigai (生き甲斐) which translates to 'a reason for being', is a Japanese concept referring to something that gives a person a sense of purpose, a reason for living.
In my own words, I believe everything happens for a reason. With that being said I know everybody goes through their own struggles. But it is up to you to let it affect you, or overcome it. For me I look to music.
My overall Goal is I want to make music that people can resonate with, while spreading positive mental health awareness. I don’t think enough people realize how fragile mental health can be. Or if they are suffering in silence because they didn’t know what was wrong. I struggled with extreme anxiety and depression. During that time I didn’t know what was wrong with me, it wasn’t until I finally opened up to a close friend and he told me I should seek help. It was then I found out it was depression. I would have never known. I just figured I was having bad days because normally I'm upbeat and outgoing. If I can make something that people can relate to, then they might be more likely to open up about it and seek help. I feel like this is my sense of purpose. I want to make music that creates smiles for generations, a way to spread a positive message for mental Health so more people will know that “it’s okay to not be okay”.
